Los Gigantes and the others popular resort on Tenerife

Los Gigantes and the others popular resort on TenerifeBest beaches on Tenerife - Los Gigantes

Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago – are small resorts hiding in the west of Tenerife island. Nothing special – hotels, apartments, and beaches. But we were once attracted by Los Gigantes beach.

Los Gigantes-1

A small port with the gem behind it – a beach with rocks on the background.

There are restaurants and even hotel suits with windows overlooking boats in the port. Notwithstanding this constant smell of fish, there are many visitors. Various excursions by boat start from here.

Parking is paid, but there’s no other place to park, so you have to pay 1.7 Euros per hour.

We had our photos taken here in our wedding outfits three years ago. It was magical, lots of black sand.

And now ocean has swallowed up the sand, waves took over the major part of the beach and everything somehow changed. Perhaps the first time we had greater euphoria of this place, and having returned we found nothing interesting, it’s a kind of disappointment. We have this feature – we don’t like to go back where we have already been, we would rather seek for something new.

Another resort town is Adeje. We were here three years ago. All buildings are hotel complexes, shops, and cafes with restaurants. People run or sit on the benches in the morning watching the sunrise.

In fact, it’s very boring here, at least as for us; we have decided that lying idle on the beach among the like and doing nothing is just wasting time and degradation for our brain) We rest by changing activity, if not active movement, then working on the computer, cooking or reading. If we have noon to wait for suitable light, we can sunbathe for an hour. We did so about once a week. So we won’t tell a word about the rest on the resorts like Los Cristianos, Las Americas, since there was nothing to take a shot of.

One of the most popular beaches both for the locals and the nudist is La Tejieta beach near El Medano and southern airport.

We like the nude beaches more and more. Although nudists are here fifty-fifty. Someone come here with children, someone sunbathe without swimsuits. So do we also gradually try to. We sunbathed here topless. And next to us Adams walked 🙂

There are small towns, also resorts near the beach. We arrived into Los Abrigos hoping to get to the local weekly market to purchase vegetables and fruit, but it turned out to be ordinary souvenir market. There are no markets as such; they are in several towns once a week but we didn’t manage to get to any of them.
