Amazing garden in Warsaw library you defenitly must see

Amazing garden in Warsaw library you defenitly must seeAmazing Garden in Warsaw You Definitely Must See

This is a kind of magic and extraordinary architecture. This is not just a nice facade, it’s Europe’s largest roof garden.

Yes, a magic garden on the library’s roof with incredible views of the entire Warsaw. And what’s even better is that’s accessible to everyone, not only students can come here, but everyone, free of charge.

The library was designed by Polish architects and opened in 1999. Here’s a giant archive of books stored, but entrance to the halls with books is only available to students. There’s a coffee shop inside.

There are equally nice modern buildings near the Library. We haven’t found out their functional purpose, but still wanted to take a picture of them.

Near the main entrance on the walls of the facade you see plants and a magical atmosphere begins.

There’s an incredible space inside where plants are climbing on the walls too. To the right – entrance only for students. To the left – the coffee shop and other stores. And if you go straight – you get into a fairy tale.

Narrow cobbled paths, lots of benches for rest or study, and even a lawn – it seems so cool to be here during the festivals.

Interesting things are popping up from every corner.

The architecture is quite unusual and with interesting design, especially the color and ancientness of the metal, which the library is made from.

Like on a different planet – the Green one.

If you go a little bit further, you see the stairs up!

The area of the garden (on the roof and next to it) is about 1 hectare.

You can find a few windows, showing the halls of the Library. And we wish we could get inside too!

warsaw library-23

This is not a simple garden; people are working hard and look well after it. Each path can lead you to even a more interesting place. There’s a very huge area, and some paths are not visible.

Location of the Library is quite good, up to 10 minutes’ walk from the Old Town. Right next to it (even visible from one side) there’s a well-known and very interesting Copernicus Science Centre. A modern downtown is well within view.

It’s so nice here that you get an aesthetic shock at first. You can feel harmony, warmth, and tranquility here. There are benches worth sitting on to enjoy the place. But we didn’t do that 🙂 We were running down all the paths, on all the bridges to see and take pictures of everything. While the sun was going down. And then the time for visits ended and the garden was closed overnight.

You can feel yourself as if in a game where you need to go through all little streets – on the bridge, down the path, over the green tunnel of vines, near a number of different objects, look at all four sides of the entire roof.

When we thought that we went around everything, we found another tunnel that led us to a very different side (you can see the Copernicus Centre from there).

That’s the Copernicus Science Centre. You will definitely hear about this center: tickets price is worth going there. We spent there more than 2-3 hours to walk around, but didn’t manage to see everything: we didn’t go up the observation deck as it rained cats and dogs that day. There you can see science in practice. Parents bring their kids here to learn the world. This is a cool idea, because everyone will enjoy physics, medicine and other disciplines for sure. You can spend a half of the day here without hesitation and won’t regret it. We have been there during our last visit to Warsaw, so we know)) Here you can see the video about us in museum
