Picturesque Blagaj and Kravice waterfall near Mostar

Picturesque Blagaj and Kravice waterfall near MostarMust see - Kravice waterful in Bosnia and Herzegovina

We are going to show several interesting places that are situated near popular Mostar in Herzegovina in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the way you can come across lavender fields.

A popular holiday destination for Croats is this waterfall, in the foot of which the lake was formed. Yes, namely for the Croats, since Herzegovina is majorly inhabited by the Bosnian Croats, and, in addition, Croats from Croatia quickly come here down the highway. Quite close to Dubrovnik and Split. And some 50 km remain to Mostar.

Kravice Fall consists of several waterfalls, as you can see. And you can swim in the lake they form. And there’s a restaurant as well. Infrastructure near the waterfall is disputable (even WCs are closed – there’s on the top near the parking lot, but that’s far).

The cost of the ticket for two + parking is 5 euros. You wouldn’t be able to approach waterfalls closer, only if you swim.

Here’s a giant bridge for the highway from Croatia.

Another popular place is Blagaj. That’s the name of the settlement, where the monastery for Muslims is located. Now it’s a tourist destination, but earlier monks used to live and pray here. The place is picturesque and unique. Buna river begins from these powerful rocks (water flow is 30-40 m3 per second). Water is unsurpassed. Emerald, crystal clear, and icy. It’s so good to refresh in the heat.

The cave from which the water flows is so large that you can swim on the boat there.

It’s so picturesque and yet spine-chilling here; if you raise you head – rocks are gigantic!

We also experienced disappointment here – the place is so touristic that locals are getting on your nerves. Even in the very monastery there’s a restaurant. And there are so many restaurants – at every free square, quality and appearance of which don’t inspire you, by the way, to spend your time there. That’s the only free space where you can look at the monastery and the spring. We didn’t even want to shoot what’s behind. And lastly a man approached us at the free parking, looked at us and asked 5 euros for parking. To the question where’s official information – some bla-bla-bla. He recorded our car’s number somewhere and said he would call the police, who would catch us somewhere. These are the impressions the locals leave about their country and landmarks they are proud of! In general, the place is interesting and beautiful, worth visiting. Especially considering it’s a few kilometers from Mostar.
