Cluj-Napoca is the main city of Transylvania
As it is known, Transylvania covers almost all cities of the historical heritage of the Germans, the Austrians, and the Hungarians. And this heritage is to be proud of and enjoyed. Cluj-Napoca is called Klausenburg by the Germans and the Austrians named the city Kolozsvar. It is the second largest city after Bucharest. Historical buildings are well-preserved here.
Cluj-Napoca is the city of youth, many students study here. We liked the city infrastructure. Red bicycle paths. Plain minimalist fountains. Coffee to go at interesting stands. As well as closed carts, where fresh juices and pancakes are served. And space.
Red paths just amaze. And what is essential — pedestrians separate them from their space. And we found these meters on the building facade.
Narrow streets, without cars downtown.
We accidentally came across an ancient bakery and bought national pastry. Almost every passerby was carrying the same bagel-buns.
The room is 5×5 m. The prices here turned out to be the cheapest. Then we saw many the like shops where the price were 1.5-2 times higher.
This pastry is being sold in front of the fountain – to right in the street.
White crow, or how we queued for Transcarpathian black cherries, so familiar to us since childhood.
It is also interesting to walk in Cluj-Napoca and have a close look at historic architecture. Although Brasov and Sibiu are more popular places to visit.
We went to the river after the historical center. Here we were met by Asia – repairs and many wires.
And there is a mystical place near Cluj-Napoca – Ноіа-Васiu forest. There is a huge forest near the town where once an UFO was seen. Since then it’s being investigated by ufologists, and people who walk there tell about persecutory complex and scary premonition. Some trees and plants are of strange and terrible shapes. In addition, this forest is called the Transylvania Bermuda Triangle. Everything is clear here. We even went there for 15 km from the city to have a walk. But the forest area is just huge to look for mystical trees of interesting shapes or places of flying saucer stops, so we disliked the idea to spend time on it, since we had to go to another interesting place. So we have a photo of Romanian goats at a new building near the forest.
Transylvania is a very developed region of Romania. All the fields there are planted or occupied as pastures or logistics and factories of large European companies. Roads are just wonderful, and highways are even better. Some of them already exist and we often used them, and some are still at the finishing stage.
We were struck by huge areas engaged for solar cells. You can see a lot of interesting things out of the car’s windows while going by Transylvania roads. And especially enjoy the beautiful hues of green fields.
With love, RH.
