7 Top Interesting Places Of Croatia Worth VisitingCroatia is a country extremely rich in interesting old towns, numerous islands with distinctive landscapes and beaches, incredible mountains and coastline. There’s something to see in every corner of Croatia, no matter whether it’s close to the sea or has nothing to do with the coastline. We are going to show a selection of places in this article whose beauty we have managed to admire on our own.

Islands are always interesting due to their quite different life if compared with the mainland. The island of Pag can be reached by ferry even with your car. An exciting 15-minute voyage on the sea waves and you can contemplate interesting landscapes. Pag Island is poor in flora, but residents have learned to do without fertile land and deal with other business.

The Island of Pag can safely be called an island of sheep. There are private farms at each step, mostly fenced by low stone fences. What’s more, salt is mined here and people do other interesting products, including edible ones. There are beaches and small settlements with picturesque houses. All these you can drive on asphalt roads and drive out in another end of the island over the bridge to the mainland. See more here.

One of scenic and the most important seaside towns is Split. From here you can sail on a ferry to different parts and islands of Croatia as well as other countries. Besides Split is s historic town, somehow similar to Venice. Here, even the People’s Square is very similar to the Piazza San Marco. You can wander the streets of the old part, and you can stroll along gorgeous promenade with palm trees, terraced cafes and benches for rest or feeding seagulls. You can go to a modern spacious promenade just to sit on the loungers and watch the yachts sailing from Marina.

There’s also a large park in Split from whose top you can enjoy the views of the old part of the town, Marina and the sea. You can climb up the tower and have a 360-degree look at all Split. It’s very comfortable and spacious here. Read more here.

From Split you can go by ferry to the Island of Brac, and get to the first town of Supetar in 50 minutes, and then explore the island from all sides. The highest point of all Croatian islands is here – Vidova Gora (778 m). As well as the famous Golden Horn beach. Here they grow grapes and make delicious unique wine that you can taste and buy from local producers.

The town of Makarska in Croatia is located at the foot of a high mountain. Contemplation of houses on the background of this mighty mountain gives you a thrill. Here old houses with orange roofs magnetize and offer wandering the streets and finding interesting points.

Croatia is a maritime country. There’s many seafood here of course. But oyster farms are of major interest. In a quiet bay where water is calm and clear, and therefore ensures the best conditions for the oysters’ growth. One well-known town where you can try fresh oysters is Mali Ston.

The pearl of all the Adriatic is considered the Croatian town of Dubrovnik. Tourist ships are coming here from everywhere. Dubrovnik is truly remarkable. There are horizontal to vertical streets. Those houses on the top offer a fantastic view from the window or balcony of the entire old part with red tiles of the roofs. You can climb the walls and walk around the perimeter of the town. Or you can go in a cabin up the mountain near the town and look at the whole Dubrovnik on the background of blue sea. You can drink coffee or eat ice cream in one of the many, but beautiful establishments or eat fish dishes, which Croatia is so famous for.
